Dealers
attending the weekly Tuesday sale at ADESA Austin were recently treated
to a taste of old Hollywood, including special celebrity appearances
by Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.
ADESA employees donned their best costumes to add to this festive
event.
This large scale event coincided with the opening of a sixth auction
lane making it easier for dealers to buy and sell at ADESA Austin.
Sales are held every Tuesday starting with the Video/Salvage sale
at 8:15am, then continuing on to the consignment sale at 9:30am, and
the fleet/ lease sale at 10:00am. ADESA Austin is growing, and now
they are running 900+ units at every sale.
Offering sales from Americredit on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every
month and Capital One Finance on the 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of the month
is clearly making them “Texas Best Kept Secret”.
ADESA Austin also held a silent auction for 15 motion-picture posters,
which made $951.00, with all proceeds benefitting the ADESA Austin
charity committee. This committee supports Special Olympics, Safeplace,
North Austin Youth Association, School for the blind, in house crisis
needs, The Oak Crest Nursing Home, SPCA, and adoptive families during
the holidays.
According to Kendra Puterbaugh, ADESA Austin Marketing Manager, bringing
this movie-theme event to life was no simple feat. Along with the
symbolic carpet, curtains and golden ropes normally found at a typical
red-carpet affair, dealers could stop by the snack stand or take a
break in the movie theater at the auction.
“This special event really was a great success,” said
Puterbaugh, and everyone involved had a wonderful time.
